Experience Mount Vernon is seeking individuals to join the Board of Directors in 2027 who genuinely care about the future of downtown Mount Vernon and want to play an active role in creating a vibrant, welcoming, and thriving downtown.

We are looking for people who bring different perspectives, experiences, skills, and connections to the community. While downtown business owners and community leaders are valuable voices, you do not need to own a business, work downtown, or have previous nonprofit board experience to serve.

We are especially interested in individuals with experience in areas such as business, finance, marketing and communications, fundraising, event planning, tourism and hospitality, historic preservation, grant writing, government and community relations, design, technology, volunteer management, and nonprofit leadership.

Most importantly, we are looking for people who are willing to be involved—to attend meetings, participate in events and initiatives, contribute ideas and expertise, serve as ambassadors for Experience Mount Vernon, support fundraising and sponsorship efforts, and work collaboratively to help shape the future of our organization and downtown.

Board terms are 3 years, and individuals may serve up to two consecutive terms (six years).
